Turn a username idea into a useful shortlist.
Choose a professional, gaming or short style, then tune the optional keyword, separator and length. Use the results for account mockups or as starting ideas for a handle. Generation suggests text; it does not reserve that text on any platform.
- 01
Start with the destination rules
Check the maximum length and allowed punctuation of the service you intend to use. Select a matching separator before generating.
- 02
Use a focused keyword
The optional keyword accepts letters A–Z. A short keyword leaves more room for the generated part, particularly at smaller maximum lengths.
- 03
Review the complete result
Read the name aloud, check ambiguous characters and confirm availability directly on the destination platform. Keep a few alternatives.
Example: compare naming constraints
Brief: keyword orbit, separator _, maximum 16
Illustrative candidate: orbit_pixel
Check: 11 characters, permitted separator, availabilityThis example is a manually written candidate, not a claim that the handle is available. A destination may reject words or patterns that satisfy its basic length limit.
| Setting | Useful for | Tradeoff |
|---|---|---|
| Professional | Readable account labels | May need a distinctive keyword |
| Gaming | More playful suggestions | Check tone in context |
| Short | Compact menus and handles | Less room for a full keyword |
Before you use the result
Practical answers for your next test.
Why was my keyword shortened?
The generator fits its parts into the maximum length. Increase that limit or use a shorter keyword.
Will different runs produce a unique handle?
Different runs may overlap. A generated suggestion is not a globally unique identifier.
Can I test a signup form with these values?
Yes. Save a fixed set and add deliberate invalid cases such as a forbidden separator or excessive length to test your own rules.
