Random Animal Generator
Pick random animals, filter by habitat and create drawing prompts. Save favorites or mix imaginary creatures for stories, games and creative practice.

Preparing your first discovery…
Lock an animal to keep it on your next draw. Changing filters clears locks.
One draw can start a whole story.
Use a single animal for a sketch warm-up, draw a group for a classroom guessing game, or combine two animals to design a fantasy companion.
How does the random selection work?
Each matching entry has the same chance of selection. A draw contains no duplicate entries. Locked animals stay; the remaining places are drawn from the current pool. A later draw can include animals you have already seen.
What is included in the animal list?
302 curated common names across six practical groups. Some names represent broader groups rather than individual species. Habitat tags describe broad associations, not a complete range map. This is a creative discovery tool, not a scientific species database. Symbols represent animal groups, not exact appearances.
Can someone else use the same drawing challenge?
Yes. Share selection creates a link containing the exact animals and creative prompt choices. Favorites and locks stay on your device and are not shared. The link does not need an account.
Is it free, and are my results stored?
All three modes are free and do not use your test-data allowance. Selection happens in your browser. Saved animals use local browser storage; shared results live in the link fragment. There is no animal generation API or server-side result history.
