Genory

IMEI Generator for Test Data

Generate synthetic 15-digit IMEI test numbers and check their Luhn checksum. Use samples for QA; results do not confirm devices or registrations.

IMEI SETTINGS 01

Leave empty for a random synthetic prefix. A custom prefix is not checked against the GSMA registry.

PRACTICAL GUIDE

IMEI test data with a calculated check digit.

An IMEI is a 15-digit mobile equipment identifier. Genory creates synthetic samples for form validation, mock device inventories and import tests. Each sample combines an eight-digit TAC-shaped prefix, six random serial digits and a Luhn check digit. It does not consult a device registry.

  1. 01

    Choose a prefix

Leave the field empty for a random eight-digit prefix, or enter a prefix your test case requires. Custom prefixes are not verified against GSMA assignments.

  2. 02

    Generate your samples

Generate one value or a batch within your plan. Keep identifiers as strings so leading zeros survive imports and exports.

  3. 03

    Check your validation path

Paste a sample into the inspector. Change its final digit to exercise a checksum failure in your own form.

A worked IMEI checksum example

TAC: 49015420
Serial: 323751
Check digit: 8
Full value: 490154203237518

The first 14 digits produce a Luhn sum of 52. Adding check digit 8 makes the total divisible by ten. This is a fixed checksum example, not a live device lookup.

Practical answers for your next test.

How is the check digit calculated?

Starting with the 14-digit body, double digits in positions 2, 4, 6 and so on. Subtract nine from doubled values above nine. The check digit makes the total a multiple of ten.

Can I generate an IMEI for a specific phone model?

This version has no model catalog. Entering a TAC prefix does not verify which model, if any, it belongs to.

Does the checker support IMEISV?

No. It checks the 15-digit IMEI format and Luhn checksum. A 16-digit IMEISV is a different structure.

Does checking use my allowance?

No. The format checker runs locally without an account or record allowance. Generation uses the existing Genory plan and quota rules.
