ABOUT THIS GENERATOR

Give the creature a name and a reputation

Dragon roots include vrax, zhaur and thrax, joined to endings such as ath, ax and uth. Full-name epithets include Cinderwing, Stormcoil, Glassfang and Ashscale. The profile has no separate gender endings, so no gender control is shown.

Naming style

The Title + name structure uses Ancient or Skybreaker in Classic. Name + epithet adds a scaled or elemental image after the root. These are different structures: selecting a title does not also append an epithet. Long adds middle syllables, while Dark changes the sound with additional prefixes and endings.

Example names

Generated by Genory with Classic style, medium length and Name + family name. These are creative examples, not a list of existing characters or places.

How to use this generator

  1. Start with Classic and compare Short with Long.
  2. Choose Name + epithet for a visual trait or Title + name for a reputation.
  3. Generate a batch and keep both a pronounceable short form and your preferred formal name in your notes.

Tips for choosing a name

  • A recurring dragon is easier to remember when players can say its root without the title.
  • Treat Cinderwing or Stormcoil as story inspiration, not a generated elemental type or combat statistic.

Favorites stay in this browser for guests or in your Genory account when signed in. Save the seed together with the selected generator and settings to reproduce a series in the same engine version.

Frequently asked questions

Can I choose a dragon color or element?

No. Epithets evoke fire, storms or scales, but the engine has no color, element or stat filters.

Why is there no gender selector?

The dragon profile uses one ending pool for all names. Showing a gender control would imply a distinction that is not implemented.

Are these D&D dragon names?

They are original fantasy suggestions. The D&D dragon option uses the same profile in a campaign-focused collection; neither is an official name list.
